When EXIN withdrew its competing ITSM certification track in July last year, it looked like the game was won by APMG. Since then, however, the numbers of ITIL exams and trainings seem to have dropped, partly due to to the recession. In the US everybody seems to be on top of the hype - which is typically a US attitude - which compensates turnover for ITIL trainers and exam bodies. But in other countries it looks to me as if people are looking for alternative ways of showing their understanding of ITSM.
Anyone seeing the same? And if so - what direction is this taking?
Hello Jan,
Though it is true that the version 2 of itil is widely accepted on the market. I do not believe that they could use the scheme of current certification of ISO/IEC 20000 to substitute ITIL v3 because the schemes of both certifications are similar.
The only difference is that in EXIN to obtain the certification Consultant/Manager and ITIL Expert (is that a credit quantity is not necessary but the candidates must realize the courses of the professional levels (leveles intermediate itil v3).
I have read your books:
Foundations of IT Service Management Based on ITIL V3
Guía de Bolsillo de ISO/IEC 20000
They have been very useful for my and I recommend it to my clients.
